5 minute ideation

Ideation is the first step

The Strategy Before the Code

In the world of Agentic Engineering, the most dangerous thing an SE can do is start typing before they have a clear narrative. Cursor is an incredibly powerful force multiplier, but if you point it in the wrong direction, you simply build the wrong solution faster. This 5-minute ideation phase is designed to force a 'Human-in-the-Loop' moment where your group defines the value proposition, the target persona, and the emotional hook of your demo without the distraction of a flickering cursor.

Success in this phase means answering three critical questions:

  • Who is the customer? Pick a specific NGO (e.g., a wildlife conservation group, a food bank, or an educational non-profit).
  • What is the 'Villain'? Identify the specific manual process or data silo that is preventing them from achieving their mission.
  • Where is the 'Magic'? Decide exactly where Cursor and AI will create a 'wow' moment—whether that's a custom LWC, a complex automation, or a predictive insight.

By stepping away from the keyboard, you ensure that your technical build is driven by business value rather than technical curiosity. Remember: a 'perfect' technical solution that doesn't solve a real-world problem is a failed demo.
