Belief Moments

Develop belief in the benefits of Agentic Engineering by having successful experiences with it.

The Three Pillars of Agentic Belief

To truly master Agentic Engineering as a Salesforce Solution Engineer, you must cross a psychological threshold known as the 'Belief Moment.' This isn't just about understanding how the tool works; it is about trusting that the partnership between your domain expertise and Cursor's execution capability can produce outcomes that were previously out of reach. There are three specific beliefs we aim to instill during this workshop:

  • The Technical Floor is Lower, the Ceiling is Higher: You must believe that your lack of deep Apex or LWC syntax knowledge is no longer a blocker to building high-end demos. By acting as a technical architect rather than a coder, you can deliver complex functionality in minutes that used to take days.

  • Strategic Orchestration is the New SE Superpower: You must believe that by offloading the 'how' to Cursor, you are freed to focus on the 'why.' This transition allows you to spend more time on discovery and story-mapping, knowing that the implementation of a specific 'art of the possible' component is just a prompt away.

  • Cursor is a Cognitive Partner, Not Just a Code Editor: You must believe that Cursor’s utility extends far beyond the .cls or .js file. It is a multi-disciplinary assistant capable of brainstorming discovery questions, performing industry-specific research, generating demo data and drafting complex implementation plans. When you treat the agent as a strategic partner for the entire pre-sales lifecycle, your preparation becomes as agile as your development.

These belief moments typically occur during your first 'perfect run'—when a complex requirement is successfully ideated, planned, and deployed into a scratch org without you manually writing a single line of boilerplate. Once you experience this shift, you stop seeing Cursor as a glorified autocomplete and start seeing it as a junior developer and research assistant who works at the speed of thought.

Achieving the 'Flow State'

Success in this new paradigm requires a high degree of intellectual honesty. You must be willing to delegate tasks you previously struggled with, while maintaining a critical eye on the output. As an SE, your value shifts from your ability to remember specific Salesforce API names to your ability to critique and refine the solutions Cursor generates. When you believe in the agent's ability to handle the heavy lifting of research and syntax, you unlock a 'flow state' where the distance between a customer's pain point and a tailored technical solution is nearly zero.
